Alcatraz Island - San Francisco

No other penitentiary in the US, and probably in the world, has an history as decorated as that of Alcatraz. Within its guarded wall, it is said that no captive has ever managed to escape the prison alive.

It bears the scars of prisoner's uprising, riots and violent mishaps during its tenure as one of the darkest prison for the darkest convicts in the US. Today, it is one of the most visited heritage landmark in the city of San Francisco. Some photos from our visit -
